If I am to believe the internet, (and I always do) our favorite movie director Uwe Boll made some outrageous statement that he'd like to fight the critics of his movies in a boxing match. For those who do not know, Uwe Boll is responsible for taking a lot of video game IP and making movies out of them. He is responsible for Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, and House of the Dead and will soon be releaseing Dungeon Seige followed by Postal. The most distinguishing characteristic of these movies is that they are all apparently pretty bad. Anyway, according to Gamespot, apparently some critics took him up on the offer! You may recognize the name from the following quote: " After that, Boll will run a one-day gauntlet of matches against Something Awful webmaster Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka" Personally, that sounds pretty awesome, I hope they televise the matches over the internet. At the very least, we can read about the results on Something Awful. This post was edited on 08-28-2006 21:07:43 |

Yeah, it wasn't that great of a game which makes me wonder why the hell did they make a movie out of it? Isn't the usual pattern to make a movie and then a crappy game about said movie? Numerous examples come to mind, starting with that E.T. game way back. Oh, and the Matrix Online is a terrible, terrible, terrible game which should have never seen the light of day. But why did they pick Bloodrayne? The game was far more enjoyable than the movie. It's just mind-boggling how someone would say, "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," because you'd have to be a flying monkey wearing a dress who is more or less retarded from crash landing into trees and self-causing brain damage. Then again, I guess that's Hollywood. Braindead monkeys flinging poo at us. |

If I had to guess why Bloodrayne, I'd guess that it was a matter of how much awareness of the game there was and how cheap they could buy the rights. Bloodrayne may not be great, but it is a hollywood-compatible movie concept and there is some public recognition of the IP. |

So for those that don't keep their ear close enough to the ground, Uwe Boll apparently had his boxing matches. Sounds like he was a real bastard about it. Anyway, here is a video of him fighting lowtax. He pretty much knocks the skinny nerd down with each punch: |

What a jackass. I guess that pretty much confirms my decision to not see his movies.
Oh wait, it had been confirmed pretty hard earlier. I've never confirmed it this hard before.
