... is a fun game. I haven't played a PC game in a very long time, but this one has sparked my interest a while back and I finally decided to try it out. I didn't buy the entire Orange Box because I don't really care to play Half Life 2 and although Team Fortress looks like fun, I probably would not play it a lot. Also I wanted to spend $20 instead of $50. Anyway, at first I thought the game was going to be short, but it turned out to be about right, at least for my attention span. I did play through some bonus maps, which were just some of the later maps with modifications to make it harder. Some weren't that bad, some were very difficult. My poor little computer had to run it with all the settings turned down at 800x600 (although I think I could have probably ran it at 1024x768 or even my monitor's native resolution of 1280x1024, but I didn't try it until just now. I did try turning up all the settings, like 6x anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering. It crashed. Oh well, the game was a lot of fun and I'm sure those of you with a decent computer will enjoy what looked to be like nice graphics, that is, before I moved the mouse and locked up hl2.exe. |
