Wow, fanboy much? A guy at work got the iPhone4 on Friday. It's very pretty and very responsive, but I'm most likely going for the EVO soon. 1) AT&T's coverage at my house just isn't cutting it. No 3G, dropped calls galore, and no one wants to give me one of those Microcells (I wrote them about a free one since service is so bad in my neighborhood, they said no.) 2) The price is right on Sprint's network, even with the 4G device surcharge. I'm also not a fan of the "unlimited" data on the iPhone being limited to 2GB. A guy at the store told me he rarely went even close to 2GB, but that's not the point. 3) I AM a developer (in response to the video), and I am interested in developing apps without owning a Mac or paying $100 to submit an app to the store. I also don't want to learn Objective C. On the other hand, battery life does concern me. But, another guy at work got the EVO on launch day and has since made some changes (removed the SenseUI software) to get much better battery performance. It's crappy you have to do that, but something I can put up with. The reception and price are the big ones for me. That's all! |

This is supposed to be a funny thread Jody. Both of those videos are friggin hilarious! :-) If you wanted to try and get a free microcell, why didn't you just ask me man? Did you forget I work for ATT? The 2GB thing - We are doing that to stop abusers from monopolizing towers by hacking the software and basically running a wifi hotspot from an AT&T cellphone. Honestly, no one I know uses anywhere near 2GB. I only use 400MB and I'm on my phone all day, every day. Plus it is a savings opportunity. It is funny that our customers complained, "Why do I have to get an UNL Data plan? I have wifi almost everywhere I go" until we stopped offering it. Now it is, "I would rather keep an Unl data, I'm not falling for that" as if we are trying to now trick them into not having enough data to use their devices. GRRR.. I love retail :-) I thought both videos had really good points (except when exagerated like the 3x faster speeds on EVO, etc...) More importantly, I thought both videos were friggin HILARIOUS! :-) |

Continuing along the iPhone train, here are the top 11 iPhone 4 issues that I shamelessly copied and pasted from somewhere else on the magical interwebs: 11. Voice-cancelling microphone a really bad idea. 10. Notches in side prone to causing tears in rectal tissue. 9. Acclerometer keeps getting stuck on the carpet and runs the phone into walls. 8. It'll explode when thrown at a Pinto. 7. Face-tracking laser burns holes through eyebrows. 6. Keeps texting taunts to iPhone 3GS owners without your knowledge. 5. Touchscreen rubs off toxic levels of smug. 4. Extended battery life comes at the expense of draining your health. 3. Retina display causing burn-in in the back of people's retinas. 2. Oleophobic screen makes breading fall off when trying to deep fry your iPhone. 1. Proximity sensor lets out a loud beeping sound if you start walking backward. |
