Whats up
ByOctober 2nd, 2003
So I wrote a rant earlier tonight, but it's not really so much of a rant per se. You'll have to read it and figure out what it is.
I also posted a new topic in the message board about the upcoming movies section of this site. Please read it and give me input, so I can possibly do some work this weekend on it.
That's all for now. My bed is calling. Happy Friday everyone!

I sank to the level of a preteen
By WastrelOctober 5th, 2003
Anyway the point of this post is that last week I watched 'A Knight's Tale,' on my own without female companionship, and of my own free will as well. Yes I realize my utter stupidity. And so here is my Reflection on the modern 'classic'.
The only mistake I admit to was believing my female friends in that it is good and not listening to my gut instinct of movie stupidity.
Anyway the comic will be coming soon I have more work to do so...
-peace out

Sleep is for wimps
ByOctober 7th, 2003
I'm sure I'll disagree with that last statement in about 2 hours. Since I've been busy with this paper, the only update I have for today is my story of staying up all night and of course, the movie exchange. If you haven't heard about it, visit the message board and take a look. Currently there are 138 movies in the database and the potential for hundreds more if you guys participate. Email me if you want to sign up and I'll create an account for you.
Have a great hump day! I'll be passing out in approx. 6 hours until it's time to go to work.

Scary Monkeys
ByOctober 12th, 2003
I think we'll be doing this on a regular basis for major holidays. I'll spend more time on making Christmas' theme look better. I'll even throw in a manora and a black Santa to celebrate diversity.
Or not. Anyway, that's all for now because my fall break was anything but a break. I made the website change colors and that should be enough for all of you. If not, then I politely request for all of you to kiss my behind.
Thank you and goodnight.

I've got something yummy in my tummy
By WastrelOctober 14th, 2003
So my research professor lectured me again today about how I should leave my options open for the future. So that I may spend precious money and time to apply to grad schools, in the unlikely (or maybe likely who knows) event that if I don't get a good job I still have grad school as an option. But if I find the job of my dreams then I can still turn them down. Now this is good and all, and she actually did badger me enough until she convinced me, but the freakin' deadlines are in december. I have to now take GRE's, fill out applications, worry about teacher recs, and the lot. You know, all this, while trying to graduate, and find a part time job, is a pain in the butt.
Anyway just thought I would inform the world that I am at the breaking point of my life where one simple decision either ruins it or seals the deal.
Anyway the boys were nagging me to put a receipe of a Hungarian dish I make often since its soooo incredibly simple (easier than Spaghetti). And so without further ado I present to you Turos Teszta, literally meaning Cottage Cheese Pasta. Its good try it before you knock it.

The mad content
By Mike DalyOctober 16th, 2003
First up, Wayne took the time to bring some truths to light in his recent rant concerning Jiffy Lube. In my opinion, he was lenient on them, but I guess it would be foolish to believe that everyone who patronizes their hole gets the same problems that I do. I don't want to get started on Jiffy Lube, but I'm just going to say it took 3 entra trips to Jiffy Lube for them to fix the problems they created on the first.
Jerks.
Secondly, credit for this next item goes to wesley. He brought his cool little japanese digital camera to the climbing wall with us this past weekend, and we were able to capture some of it in the form of short quicktime movies. I hope you enjoy them. First is yours truly performing a dynamic climbing maneuver! Man, that's fun stuff. Then we have Wesley performing the same move. Then me managing a difficult traversal. Isn't it cool? Yes!
And just to point out how that first move is actually really easy and not dangerous at all, I have this, but don't tell anyone.
Thirdly and finally, we come to what I've been working on. As you can see in my modeling and game dev galleries, I have an interest in 3d modeling for games. I haven't added to the galleries in a while, but that is not to mean I haven't been working. To remedy the lack of content, however, I finally finished up the important points of a new character model for project sunburn. Now you can see her in all her glory.
Well, that might not be ALL her glory, but you'll never know, will you? Muah-hahahaha!
More than enough stuff for one day. Now get you to the messageboard and waste some more time.

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.
By Mike DalyOctober 19th, 2003
Now that thats out of the way, we can move on to the excuses phase. First of all, I'm the one to puts crappy updates with no content up all the time because I'm the only one that pays attention when everybody else forgets to post because we have no new content, so I have to post to remind you that we are all still here and functioning.
That was a pretty good excuse, I think. I should have gone with my backup and saved that one for later, like when we have had lame posts for a few days. As it stands, with all the stuff we added friday, we all deserve a little time off, so this lame post is completely valid.
Natrually, the only one of us doing significant work on something that concerns the internet community is Wayne. And he has been busy at work, like a little dwarf mining out php nuggets from html mountain. For those of you it concerns, he has updated the slim, pretty Dueling monkeys media(?) exchange!. Check out how pretty it is!
No lame post is complete without a random link in the place of real content, so therefore, I give you your reading for the day: The Street Fighter Pilot Cannon Guide, and extensive listing of the backstory surrounding the various characters in the street fighter universe. There are some very interesting things to be found there for one who is vaugely familiar with the characters, and has a lot of time on their hands.

update *post = &monday;
By Mike DalyOctober 21st, 2003
Here we are, the highlite of your day: the random link. First some introduction: if you have speakers and winamp, you should be in good shape for this one. Ever since I started listening to their music, I've been addicted to them. You may not like it, but a little variety never hurt the palete (unless you are a sissy like Wastrel).
Without further ramble, I present Guitar Vader!
(This is the part where the crowd is supposed to go wild)

I hate doing this
ByOctober 26th, 2003
Let me count them:
1) I went home this weekend for my grandmother's birthday
2) Afterwards, I went to a halloween thing with some of my family whom I don't see but a few times a year.
3) Today I had to drive back to Raleigh, go to a movie (Scary Movie 3), come home and watch 2 movies at the same time (Dogma and Alien Ressurection were on TV), and then play some video games of course.
So you see, I really had a busy weekend. And tommorow I have to go to work an hour and a half early because we are getting ready for Christmas season already. I also can't do much with this site or the movies site until I get this new one looking good and more importantly working correctly for the Game Developers Club. I hope we don't get sued by you-know-who because of the suggestiveness of the links and such at the top. I know if it were my company then I'd be happy that someone still loved me even though that since those games were released my market share had dropped like a MA241 student's GPA.
Anyway, Willow has scanned another drawing and requested some input on a color scheme. So take a look at the black and white picture and post any suggestions here. Your comments are either much appreciated or suck. You can probably tell which based on Willow's suttle, yet hinting replies at how he now hates you.
BYE!
