Steak Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 12 – 16 oz sirloin steak (strips or whole piece)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 pack mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Directions

  1. Slice and dice pepper and onion, put in bowl
  2. If you are using an uncut piece of meat, cut it into small strips or cubes
  3. Start heating olive oil on medium-high heat in large skillet
  4. Add water, black pepper, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, green pepper, and onion
  5. Cook on medium-high heat for about 7 – 10 minutes or until peppers and onions are partially cooked.
  6. Add steak strips (or cubes) and mushrooms
  7. Cook on medium heat until steak is cooked thuroughly or until desired pinkness.

Comments

I’m sure this would be good with chicken or pork instead of steak. You don’t have to be exact with the ingredients; the original recipie called for more stuff but I didn’t have it and left it out. I was very pleased with the results.

If you have someone helping to dice the veggies and meat, it makes it twice as easy. Don’t overcook the meat, just get it done.
